Even if I get carried away as I talk, there are times when I regret having done so as I read the things I said. That doesn’t prevent me from talking and writing, despite my awareness of the precarious things I say and write. Maybe, as it is, that is exactly the reason for that life-giving submersion into repentance, to go on babbling.

I often also get weary of my work, but at least, our work carries, on its own, its own apology.
It is our unbiased witness and judge in the world.

The question, anyway, as to if our art has a meaning and which it is does not regard our work but ourselves and our expectations, as human beings and as a community.

Having said this, what I understand by art is, basically, a way of keeping the meaning of eternity in our ephemeral gestures, the memory of the common and the important, from our everyday experience of the transitory and already fleeting present.

I often use surfaces worn out by former living usage, trying to impart into my work not only the subject and whatever representational skill, but also the continuous reminder of our collective place and time, which lie at the origin to my cogitation, and which I would like the final outcome of my craft to revert to.

I insist on the painted representation, because it allows me to convey the instant as an archetypal image, the universe as an idea.
I choose my subjects bearing in mind their being recognized, as native signs as much as universal symbols of man’s communication with the ineffable intimacy of the secret which encircles the physical objects around us.

The process of preparation and painting leads me, in moments of commitment and discipline, into unexpected glades of self knowledge, reconciliation with our common pact and the excesses of our accomplished world, within itself, on the surface of its beauty. Those are the glades I aspire to and work for.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[3

post-5721","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-timeline","category-3","description-off
["GET
